The first two pages are history on the breed which you can easily Google. The rest of it is a generic puppy book. He is no breed expert. He is just targeting buyers by putting their breed on the book to make sales. His CPR chart is found on Google. He even admits in the book that it can be applied to EVERY dog. Waste of money. You are better off doing Internet research on your own. Please don't let this guy rip you off. Returning my copy!

Lots of information on the breed standards as well as health information, training tips and techniques, and resources. (The only problem I have with the book is that there are not enough pictures!) Highly recommended.

Now, with pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and genetically-modified foods, organic is still the best option. Indoor gardering is the best economic way to produce a healthy food without any adds. I find this book very interesting in terms of preparation indoor gardering items, right constracting the place, taking care for vegetables. I live in an apartment, so I only have a balcony to dedicate to all my green love. This book also gives useful tips on how to garden on roof tops terraces. This book is definitely helpful as this guides the reader though the process of farming, from the tools and equipment needed to planting the seeds and seedlings. So many useful and handy tips to follow on. I loved it. I hope so will you. Definitely worth the buy!

Usually, I'm having to slog through paragraph after paragraph of useless filler before getting to the good stuff. This book treats the reader with respect and stays on point. The instructions and tips are concise and clear. Whether you are a beginner to gardening or an old pro, this book is a great read. Oh..and I can't wait to try the all natural pest control recipes!

This book takes you on a pictoral history of early Iznik tile designs found in Topkapi Palace and Rustem Pasha Mosque in Turkey. Harvey, an Australian quilt-shop owner, explains the tiles’ history in Turkish locales, and then she gets down to the business of turning patterns on clay into quilt designs. Basic instructions begin with lessons on the sewing machine and on fabric and batting. How-to instructions include tracing designs, using templates, and using machine appliqué for corners and angles. The eight projects range from small to large, starting with a Geliboulu (aka Gallipoli, site of major WWI battles) carry-all. By Fay Jones This book is awe inspiring with stunning quilts that will be family heirlooms that are works of art to be used or displayed. The photographs of these amazing quilts, taken on location in Turkey, show how the quilts reflect the centuries of antique designs, architecture, rich colours, organic symmetry and Turkish Iznik tiles that this city and the Ottoman Empire are famous for. I am keen to undertake one of these quilts for my home. Thank you Tamsin for having the foresight to design these stunning quilts to remind us of the wonders of Constantinople and exclusive Turkish locations.I would highly recommend this book to quilters and patchworkers, from novice to advanced, to make table runners or intricate quilts using the patterns and excellent instructions that are included. It is filled with glorious photographs of Iznik tiles in various locations in Turkey (including the Topkapi Palace, the Sultanahmet Mosque and the Hagia Sophia Museum), and eight appliqué projects to construct and quilt. It is also a very practical book, and sets out the basics for tackling these projects. From choosing the right fabric and thread, using a sewing machine, how to transfer appliqué designs, through to choosing the right needles for hand-stitched or machine appliqué: it’s all here. So far in my quilting journey, I’ve only done a few small quilting projects which included appliqué, but I’d really like to tackle something bigger.There are eight patterns: a bag, two table runners, cushions and a bed scarf, and four beautiful quilts. Each project is accompanied by beautiful photographs of the finished piece. Clear instructions are included under the following headings: Materials, Cutting, Preparation, and Construction (including finishing).My only problem? Deciding which project to start with. I am tempted to make ‘The Peacock’ (a quilt, featuring a peacock in the tree of life) but will probably start with ‘The Sultans Cushions and Bed Scarf’. In the meantime, looking at the photographs, reading the history of Iznik tiles and contemplating fabric choices is fascinating.Tamsin Harvey and her mother Sue own Berrima Patchwork, a wonderful quilting and fabric store in Berrima, New South Wales. Don't bother- nothing about building tiny house, off-grid electric, or convertible furniture By Mrs. Book Nerd All books are about "adapting" to a tiny space w/ obvious advice like you can't have 2000sqft w/ of stuff in 150sqft thy house.Any off-grid info is about how "yes, you can use solar power" but no info. Download "simple solar homesteading" book for free-- tells you how to build 2-level 14'x14' home and live off solar power and cheap generator. * I have no affiliation w/ book, author, or his website. Lamar was kind enough to give me free info, so I champion him when I can. He gives real advice like how to run a real, home sized laundry machine once a month while vaccumming and topping off your solar grid's batteries. He gets into size of his solar grid and what small appliances he can run. * even if you wanna build moveable tiny home (which he sells plans cheaply for), this books gives great building advice and real-life off-grid info, like to have fridge or Not.These books are about downsizing-- duh!Convertible furniture is a must -- duh!It doesn't even get into expense, making sure to get building codes for either site based build or on the road vehicle!Example: every tiny book/website says you can probable build w/o codes/inspections if under 100-150 sqft.I live in very relaxed building code area and if your shed (even on skids/tires) is over 100sqft o $1000 to build (real cost of items-- not cost you got them for), you need building permits & several step-by-step inspections, etc!These books give great advice like downsizing your wardrobe because you won't have closet space-- duh!I feel robbed and I downloaded for free!All 3 books repeated same Obvious advice w/o any real knowledge/chapters about building/building codes/road safety/etc!

Roberts First Sentence: A few miles beyond Exeter, the sea worked it usual magic and the wind changed, coming from the West.Apothecary John Rawlins and his bride, Emilia, have decided to stay in England for their honeymoon. One of their stops is bustling port of Taunton. They are invited to dine with Jan van Guylder, his son, Richard, and his clearly upset and willful daughter, Juliana. A few days later, John and Emilia are at the beach when they see a ship being towed to shore. There is no crew on board, but the raped and beaten body of Juliana has been draped over the ship's figurehead.I so enjoy this series. With each book I learn new things about herbs and medical remedies of the period. An added element in this book was the character of Old Saul who taught John, and us, about remedies he learned from American Indians and Eskimos. Lake blends the historical and fictional characters so well giving great authenticity to the story.I don't know his age, but John is still quite young and it shows in his vanity and somewhat fickle nature regarding women. Offsetting that is a dedication to his craft, perseverance in finding the killer and a wisdom which comes from seeing the harsher side of life. [John] "I think you are amoral, the whole damned bunch of you. [Peter] "Fun though." "Not for your victims," John answered and walked away." Emilia is wonderfully drawn with just the right amount of wisdom and impatience of a young bride.While I missed Lord John Fielding, I found it refreshing for the book to be set outside London and Rawlings working in cooperation with Joe Jago, the Flying Runners, the local constable and Emilia. Lake doesn't forget about her secondary characters but ensures they are fully dimensional and interesting.The story was very well plotted with ghost coaches, former lovers, a depilated mansion not completely uninhabited, and escalating suspense. In spite of having figured out the villain, there was a a very satisfying twist at the end.I loved that in my hardcover copy, Ms. Lake corrected and initialed three types missed by the editors. As this edited volume shows, many national cultures have created or reimagined the idea of the superhero, while the realm of superheroes now contains many icons whose histories borrow from local folklore and legends. Consequently, the superhero needs reconsideration, to be regarded as part of both local and global culture as well as examined for the rich meanings that such broad origins and re-workings create.

This collection stands out as the first concentrated attempt to think through the meanings and significance of the superhero, not only as a product of culture in the United States, but as a series of local, transnational, and global exchanges in popular media. Through analysis of mainly film, television, and computer screens, contributors offer three challenges to the idea of the “American” superhero: transnational reimagining of superhero culture, emerging local superheroes, and the use of local superheroes to undermine dominant political ideologies. The essays explore the shifting transnational meanings of Doctor Who, Thor, and the Phantom, as these characters are reimagined in world culture. Other chapters chart the rise of local superheroes from India, the Middle East, Thailand, and South Korea. These explorations demonstrate how far superheroes have traveled to inspire audiences worldwide.

I was not really sure what to expect with this, but the collection turned out to be an interesting and highly informative set of essays. The focus is on how American superheroes and motifs associated with them have been appropriated by various cultures across the globe. This is definitely a must read for comic scholars and academic fans of superhero films and TV. Hopefully, a paperback version will be forthcoming.

22 of 23 people found the following review helpful. Don't feel quite as strongly as Carol. However,... By A reviewer from SC Just finished this book and I was disappointed. I sometimes come back to a book if I don't think it lived up to its overall rating so I can give my own review and try to balance the ratings. While I don't feel as strongly as Carol felt (boy did she set off a firestorm!), I do agree w/ some of her thoughts. As I reflected on the book when I finished, I kept thinking, "these men almost seemed bipolar or something." They go from one extreme to another, and are therefore sometimes hard to like. I do think Patrick seems especially bad. I did not care for him in Kate and Luke's book either. I listed a review on that book as well, which is how I can remember. He seemed completely lacking in mercy and grace a lot of times when dealing w/ his family. I thought he was horrible at times to Gabe, their foster daughter. I also felt frustrated that almost every woman in this book seems to have to lie or try to manipulate her husband to get what she wants because of her fear of his reaction. I can not imagine not being able to go to my husband and openly talk about the desires of my heart. Yes, we argue on occasions, but I never feel I have to manipulate him or lie to get my way. I realize that maybe it was just the times. If so, I'm glad I live now! Maybe my husband has me completely fooled, but we also don't keep big secrets from each other which seems to be the norm for this whole group. Maybe an outfit that I shouldn't have bought, but really, a four or five month pregnancy, adoption papers where you forged your husband's signature, secret tutoring w/ an ex-fiancé for months, miscarriages, dating your sister's ex-boyfriend w/o telling her, dating your sister's ex-boyfriend w/o telling him who you are, constantly working late w/ a good looking single woman that on some level you are attracted to, and if I recall in one of the other books, Collin even kept his illegitimate son a secret from Faith after he hired the child's mother, an ex-girlfriend, and only told when he had to. These are all huge secrets/deceptions for so-called Christians to be keeping from the people they supposedly "love". I do think these are bad examples of Christian marriages. In general, the whole family was just annoying in this book for some reason. I also hated that we had to have another love triangle that involved two sisters like the first book about Faith, Charity, & Collin. Maybe this happens in life more than I realize, I don't know! In this case, I know I would not want to spend my life married to a man who had been sexually intimate w/ my sister for what seemed like years!!!!! Would make for some very awkward holidays! Honestly, in the end, I didn't even like Steven for Annie. This is a guy who describes himself over and over as not being able to get enough of Annie's sister, Maggie, and a lot of that was about sex. And spoiler alert, when Steven finally decides that Annie is the one for him, and Maggie shows back up, he ends up making out w/ her in the car briefly before he comes to his senses. I decided Steven was not a husband I would want for myself. So I had a hard time wanting him for Annie! My thoughts are layoff Carol all of you who have blasted her in your comments. I don't think she was that far off the mark in how these couples interacted! The one thing Mrs Lessman has going for her is that at least her characters don't seem too good to be true like some Christian authors!!! That's for sure!!! However, i think Ms Lessman's books are way too frustrating for me!

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Amazing end to an amazing series! By Abbi Hart This book is hard to read. Not because of anything to do with the actual story though! What makes it hard is that it's the last of the O'Conner books! After 7 books and 3,248 pages we have to say goodbye to this family that has embedded themselves in our hearts and it's quite painful! Also this book is 100 pages shorter than the others which is a little sad (mean publishers), I think this is the only almost 400 page book that I found too short! And lastly I was sad that we don't get to see any of Steven and Annie after their marriage like we did with all of the others!But now that I have all that out of the way I can commence the gushing about how much I love this book! And boy did I love it! Like all the others it is simply phenomenal!From the moment we meet the quiet eight-year-old Steven in A Passion Most Pure I knew I was going to love him and I wasn't wrong. Growing up he was always the good child, rarely getting in trouble, doing what he's told, getting good grades, and just generally being the model child. Then in college that all changes and starts hanging with the wrong people and disobeying his parents at every turn. But when his rebellion threatens the life of his father he does a complete 180 and turns into the law-abiding prohibition agent is riddled with guilt and constantly trying to redeem himself. My heart broke for him as he struggled with his guilt, with trying to do the right thing, and with trusting God and letting Him change his life. I absolutely loved the conversations Steven had with his father and Sean and I was so happy when he began to take their words to heart! It was so cool to see the transformation and even though I loved him before he became so much more awesome after!And Annie! I loved her so much!! I loved how strong she was and how she let her relationship with God cover every aspect of her life! I was so proud of her when she was willing to let Steven go if he tried to push her past her boundaries and later in the story when something life-shattering happens and she finds the strength to forgive those who hurt her (I don't want to spoil anything but those of you who've read the book know what I'm talking about!)! I could go on for quite awhile about how much a love Annie, her kindness, her innocence, her heart full of love, and so much more!There weren't as many new secondary characters but I did love Glory, Aunt Eleanor, and Frailey! And I once again loved Patrick and Marcy, Collin and Faith, Mitch and Charity, Brady and Lizzie, Luke and Katie, Sean and Emma, Gabe, and all the grand-kids!There were hard moments, funny moments, and sweet moments in this book all of which created a story I will never forget! And even though I was sad to see it end the epilogue left me with a huge grin on my face! I love the O'Conners so much and I'm sure I will visit them again soon!

By Amazon Customer Steven O' Connor has long been one of my favorites of the six O' Connor children and when I heard there would be a book about him, I couldn't wait to read it! Once I began the novel, I couldn't put it down. I don't lose sleep over many novels, but I stayed up until midnight to finish this one! Julie Lessman delivers a breathtaking story of loves surrendered and trusts regained that kept me turning pages! I finished the story with a sigh of both delight and sadness, as the O' Connors have long been like family. Thankfully, I can read their stories over and over again!I can't recommend this book highly enough!!!!

It is about horses and overcoming obstacles, so it is definitely a hit for little girls everywhere! Adorable illustrations and a true story, I highly recommend this book! I plan to buy more copies to gift to other little girls who I think could benefit from this book.

This is such a well run and caring rescue operation.We're the family who adopted Paul from one of the last stories "Skinny Puppies." I don't think we realized the extent of how tough the poor guy had it at first until we read this book! From the first day we brought him home, he has been the most gentle and wonderful soul. Liver is still his favorite treat! He is still very wary of new people and even my husband but is slowly gaining trust back in people. And you would never know he was malnourished, he is quite, er, robust now. He loves playing with other dogs in the dog park, has a special napping chair, and is permanently attached to my older dog and our 5 month old son.Thanks so much to Have A Heart for rescuing our Paul and sharing these stories of other unluckily animals who finally found their people.

JAMES HERRIOT was a veterinarian in Yorkshire, England for over 50 years until his death in 1995. By Gregg Hutchings Did I read the same book as these five star reviews?I must not have.This book was terribleI got through 15% of it on the KindleThank Budha this was a Kindle Unlimited, and I did not pay for it.There were so many typos, grammatical errors, sentences that made no sense.I gave up!Then I went back to see if maybe I missed somethingI scrolled past the 15% I stopped at, to about 65%It was a whole other book, on medicinal herbsWHAT?Then, scrolled back, and found that the book ends at 47%, loc 344 of 707 on the Kindle.WHAT????Did you reviewers read this book?Or do you know the author?I got nothing from this book.It was so common sense in the beginning, it made no senseI took screen shots of about five pages of text that just made scratch my bald head even more.Auwe!Gregg HutchingsEditor/PublisherModel Cars MagazineSlot Cars Magazine

While I am not a gardener myself I found that this book was a very good place to start- and if I ever do start a garden of my own, I will absolutely be rereading this book to get me started the right way. I loved that this author actually took the time to explain things with simple words- without using gardening terms a beginner like myself would not have understood.If you are interested in starting a garden, I would highly recommend this book to give you a jumping off point.

Floyd I don't consider myself a beginner gardener having pottered around the garden for a number of years but I needed this book because there were so many of the basics that I didn't know. On the other hand, it made me proud of how much I have picked up on my own along the way. What is great about this book is it doesn't assume that you know anything at all. It gets very basic and explains in detail for those who want to know the why behind the how. I would recommend it for the person who is just getting their feet wet in gardening.
